About DR Life Sciences
DR Life Sciences carries a double meaning. It stands for Doris Ransy Life Sciences and also reflects my background as a Doctor (Ph.D.) in Life Sciences.
Founded by myself, Dr. Doris Ransy, the company embodies my commitment to excellence in research, communication, and education, bringing together scientific expertise, strategic insight, and creativity to help others achieve meaningful impact through science.
I hold a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Université de Montréal, where I conducted my doctoral research at Hôpital Sainte-Justine in Dr. Hugo Soudeyns’ laboratory. My thesis, “Étude de l’évolution du tropisme et de la pression sélective exercée sur le gène de l’enveloppe du virus de l’immunodéficience humaine de type 1 au cours de la grossesse et à l’échelle de la population,” focused on understanding the evolution and selective pressure on the HIV-1 envelope gene during pregnancy and at the population level.
About me
Over the course of my 22 years in academic research, I have worked extensively on HIV, hepatitis C (HCV), immunology, but also on parasitology and bacteriology, mentoring numerous undergraduate and graduate students in both laboratory and research project settings. My experience also includes coordinating large-scale research initiatives such as the EPIC4 Study (Effectiveness of Early Treatment with Antiretroviral Therapy in Children with HIV) and the BQC19 (Biobanque Québécoise de la COVID-19).
I have authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications and presented my work at several national and international conferences, sharing insights and contributing to the broader scientific community.
Besides research and education, art and digital creation is one of my passions, which naturally evolved into scientific illustration. I enjoy transforming complex scientific concepts into clear, visually engaging images that communicate ideas effectively. For me, art and science are deeply connected, both are about curiosity, precision, and the desire to understand and express the world around us.
Today, through DR Life Sciences, I bring together my expertise in scientific consulting, project management, writing, and education to support researchers, institutions, and organizations in achieving clarity, efficiency, and excellence in their scientific endeavors.
